CIMND*: Chili-Evening

Seminar Room 3/4, Lecture Hall Center, Poppelsdorf Campus

Are you neurodivergent, or do you think you might be?

If so, you’re warmly invited to our Chili Night!

Chili Night is the name of our neurodivergent get-together, and our inspiration for the name is the term “neurospicy,” which some neurodivergent people use as a self-identifier. However, this term should not be used as a label applied by others. In this context, “labeling by others” means being referred to as “neurospicy” by people outside the group—which is not okay.

Who is neurodivergent?

People whose psychological or neurobiological characteristics fall outside the norm. Examples of neurodivergence include: *Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) *Autism *Dyscalculia *Learning disabilities *Dyslexia *Mental health conditions, etc.

What can you expect at the Chili Night?

It’s up to you. We’ve set up the space so you can chat with one another. The student council will provide a small selection of snacks, something to drink, and craft supplies. Feel free to bring your own snacks, drinks, and craft, sewing, drawing supplies, or anything else you’d like.

What should I keep in mind?

Every type of neurodivergence is very different, which means that our boundaries and needs also vary greatly. This means that if someone sets a boundary, doesn’t want to continue the conversation, or needs some space, we respect that. It’s easier said than done, but please try not to take it personally.

What should I do if I can’t connect with others or don’t feel comfortable talking to them?

You can reach out to us (the CIMND Office), even before the event.

When? Monday, November 9, 2026, 6:15–8:00 p.m.
