Financial Start-Up Assistance for First-Year Students

If you are a first-year student, are in a financial emergency and cannot afford to pay your semester fee, then this financial start-up aid will help you out of a tight spot. Simply write an e-mail to the AStA chair (vorsitz@asta.uni-bonn.de). It's best to send your certificate of enrollment, your passport and all bank statements from the last three months (without gaps).

Any student who, after deduction of the rent obligation of up to 450 EUR and health insurance costs of up to a further 120 EUR, has less than 40 per cent of the maximum BAföG monthly subsistence allowance remaining, is entitled to receive the benefit. In order to prove eligibility for the free table, the student's own bank statements from the current month and the two previouss month must be submitted.
