Department of Ecology
The Department of Ecology is an offer of the AStA to deal with the topics of sustainability, consumption and environmental protection.
We address aspects such as conscious nutrition and fair trade, environmentally friendly mobility, recycling, waste avoidance and energy consumption in the following lectures, workshops and campaigns, among others:
- at the second-hand bike market on 12.04.25 in cooperation with the ADFC
Do you have a spare bike that you would like to sell? Are you looking for a cheap used bike to get from A to B in an environmentally friendly way? The bike market, which we are organizing in cooperation with the ADFC Bonn∕Rhein‑Sieg, is the perfect opportunity for sellers and buyers.
A maximum of two used bicycles may be sold per person. Sellers have the opportunity to register before the sale begins. Further details are regulated in the ADFC market regulations. If you have any questions, please contact the ADFC by email (fahrradmarkt@adfc‑bonn.de).
- at vegetarian and vegan cooking evenings
- with lecture events
- by participating in events such as the Sustainability Day
We are also involved in the university's political work by being represented on its sustainability committees. To this end, we have set goals and plans for the 2025 legislative period in order to achieve climate neutrality by 2030 at the latest.
We are always open to ideas, questions, suggestions and opinions. How do you envision a sustainable university?
How can we contribute to making the university more ecological?
We currently meet every two weeks in our office in the AStA container or at Zoom.
Please contact us by e-mail or Instagram so that we can inform you about the next date and location. We are happy to welcome anyone who is committed to sustainability, whether at a one-off plenary session or as a new employee.
If you are active in another initiative that is committed to similar topics, you are welcome to ask us about cooperation or exchange.
